The statue of King D. Pedro V is located in Praça Mouzinho de Albuquerque, parish of São Vicente, city of Braga, northern Portugal.

The statue of King D. Pedro V (1837-1861) who became known as "the Hopeful" and "the Much Beloved" is in the center of a beautiful and stunning square.

A statue for King Dom Pedro V, grandson of Dom Pedro I, who assumed the throne while still a minor at 16 years old, for this reason the Kingdom was governed until his majority, by his father D. Fernando II.

He was nicknamed "Hopeful", and was instrumental in taking the country onto the road of modernization and died very young at the age of 24 in the year 1861.

This statue was made of stone and was carved in 1879, and is formed by a high pedestal, on which stands the statue of Pedro V, King of Portugal, in military uniform, and includes a commemorative plaque and the royal shield.
