Bom Jesus Castle is located in a family property dating from the 19th century with the neo-Gothic style of Swiss architect Ernest Korrodi, and inspired by the original sketches underlying the Romanticism of Rhine castles.

The Characteristics of Bom Jesus Castle
Bom Jesus Castle is an 18th century construction designed by the Swiss architect (naturalized Portuguese) Ernest Korrodi, in a neo-Gothic style similar to the famous Rhine or Austrian castles.
This Castle has medieval Gothic elements such as pointed openings and elevated facades that combine stone and iron, Gothic vaults in contrast to the Baroque style, walls painted white, immense windows and the roofs were shaped like a cone.
Inside, the neo-Gothic decorations are clear in the wallpaper, ceramics, lace, carpets and heavy machinery.
Outside you can see decorative tiles on the walls, fountains, caves, a lake and a large space surrounded by trees such as palm trees, bushes, well-kept flower beds and around a large stone wall surrounding the entire place, like a fortress protecting the space, reminiscent of the medieval fortresses that protected castles from their enemies, that is, it has a fortified structure or walls.
